Oh! I do like to be beside the seaside
I do like to be beside the sea!
I do like to stroll along the Prom, Prom, Prom!
Where the brass bands play:
Well close enough haha! In Glasgow we are never often blessed with the best weather so this is a great idea to help brighten a family day out in Glasgow. I had shopping to do and the kids behaved so well on the promise that when I had finished, provided they were good, then I was taking to the beach 🌞. So I did just that in the heart of Glasgow inside Buchanan Galleries shopping centre.
The beach has eight tonnes of golden soft sand, buckets and spades, a kids climbing frame and slide, ball pit, and most importantly relaxing deckchairs for mums and dads to chill out with a coffee (sorry no Pina Colada’s!) The beach has a bright Caribbean holiday inspired theme and is the perfect place to keep you little monsters busy if you are in Glasgow during summer.
My eldest daughter has been a patient of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Glasgow from 5 weeks old and this charity is close to heart. Most people think that the children’s hospital is funded all by the NHS but sadly it’s not and most of the state of the art equipment comes from this charity. We met the lovely Paul today who was great with the kids and raising awareness of the charity.
The indoor beach is open daily from 11am to 5pm and is located on the Sauchiehall Mall, directly across from River Island it’s a 30 minute play session in the sand for a small fee of £2 with £1 of that amount going Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity.
So go for it…take your kids to the beach and help this charity keep doing the great job they do for all the children and families in and out of the Royal Hospital for Sick Children.
