My eldest Neice and our first baby in the family, you are all set to start a new chapter in your life in going to high school. I’m sorry Tori, but I’m so emotional thinking about this so god only knows how your poor mum is feeling. 😭😭 Well I forbid you to go to high school and think you should go back to the days when playing with dolls and laughing at my funny faces were your biggest concerns! Or watching in the night garden snuggled up on the couch.
I can hear you say No Auntie Lisa I’m ready to move on now. 😭😭
Well, if you must go to high school then so be it, but as your auntie I have some thoughts to guide through this chapter.
I know you are talented, confident and very capable, but everyone struggles in some way during their school years.
Be kind to everyone
My first piece of advice, don’t just like one person like everyone and have your close friends around. But make room for others. Stay away from the clique and be the kind of girl everyone will just love by being yourself.
Don’t worry about what others think
I hope as a family we have instilled in you more confidence than I ever had in myself at your age. I spent too much time worrying about what others were thinking of me and still do to this day. It’s completely natural to want to feel accepted and you will be. Your BFF’s and family will always accept you no matter what. So don’t waste emotions worrying about what other people think of you. Chances are, they are feeling they same way you are.
You have so much potential, and I’m not just saying that because you’re my niece. Spend some time during these years trying new things and learning from them.
Don’t expect to be perfect at everything. Learn from your mistakes once you find your feet you will be fine. Just be yourself and you know that your family will always be there to, pick you up when you fall.
Good luck and have fun.
There’s no big rush to grow up so make the most of your school years and smile, laugh, meet new people, listen and engage. In every situation, there is some way to make a little fun out of it.
Believe in yourself because we believe in you, and your mum and dad believe in you so you go out there and make us proud.
You have blessed my life since the day I first met you and held you in my arms. You’re our first baby in the family so we are all nervous for this day but mostly excited for you to start this new chapter in your life. We love you and are proud of you. Have a great first day of school Tori.
Lots of love Auntie Lisa X
